We are very excited to announce that we have received the 25 blocks needed to complete the quilt! Thank you so much to all of our volunteers who sent in their beautiful work. The blocks are once again stunning and take your breath away. We have purchased the fabric to now add the sashing between the blocks and add a border. Production has all ready started on this phase.
We are even more excited to share the news that the quilt will be hand quilted to finish it! Our Quilter is Mary Hettmansperger. Mary has been sewing about 35 yrs and quilting about 10 years. She is a grandmother of 11 and a great grandma of 1. She loves quilting and a last year quilted 17 quilts for her family. We are so excited to have Mary taking this on and we know it will be beautiful when it is complete.

Thank you once again for everyone's help!

The 2008 "Birds of a Feather" Quilt is coming! ANYONE can help even if you don't sew or quilt. If you have 2 hours a month please contact the QuiltingBirds today! Join our "Birds of a Feather" Quilt Challenge to StopPDD Yahoo Group "Quiltingbirds". This group includes quilters and all the other volunteers who are helping to make this charity quilt a reality. This is a central meeting place where we can exchange and post information, and collaborate in virtual space.

The StopPDD Campaign is challenging you to help build the networked avian communitys third annual Quilt to Stop PDD! We are pleased to announce Avian Health Networks 2008 "Birds of a Feather" Quilt Challenge to StopPDD is now under construction! This summer, quilters everywhere will be stitching quilt blocks to donate to this third annual charity event sponsored by Avian Health Network, Inc. Proceeds from the 2008 drawing will again benefit PDD research by Dr. Branson Ritchie and the Emerging Diseases Research Group (EDRG) at the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine.
We are now planning the new quilt and need your sewing skills. I am attaching information about the new quilt and specifications if you are interested in donating a block. Don't be scared! I had never quilted before I did my first block over two years ago.
Please cross post this information to any other newsgroups and bird clubs you think may be interested. Feel free to contact me with any questions at Becky@stopPDD.org
Together, we can make a difference!
